I don't even like to get into it with people.  When they see me with my leathers and helmet, and they ask me what I ride, I say "A Huffy".  hahaha

CB175: Boy George
what?!?!?!

Since you asked. When I got the 175 a friend was riding a Kawasaki W650. He called his bike 'George'. It was a 'W' 650. George W... geddit? Anyhoo the CB looks kind of like a miniature version of the 650, so I came up with 'Boy George'.

Yes, the mind can come up with some pretty tenuous connections, especially when beer is involved.

I just call it my Honda since I only own American cars and one Volvo.

This whole name thing must be a sign of old age (or creeping senility). I never called any of my bikes a name (other than "the bike") until  I had more grey hair than not, and was around similar individuals who had names for theirs, too.

And why I should call the 650 after a French-Canadian optometrist I worked with for a short while is anyones guess.

I guess she can call it anything she likes, as long as she doesn't call it 'cheap'.

This brings to mind an idea for a video of the bike scooting around the lot with no rider following the owner with a can of oil, like a dog after treat.  8) Might make a neat project.

When people ask, I call it by full name.....No shame here: 75 Honda CB750 K5 or 71 Honda CB605 Cafe Racer (AKA Home Wrecker)

I usually say, "Hey you, get over here." Unfortunately it doesn't pay any more attention to me than my wife, so I end up walking over to it.  ;D

reminds me of a story i read in a sailing mag.  guy falls out of a small boat near the docks and when he pops up whistles.  the boat slowly turns toward him and stops....really.  it worked cause the guy was upwind and when you let go of the tiller, the boat will naturally turn that way.
