Not sure if you checked, but sparkplug wires, often need ends trimmed or wire replaced.
Also, clean that set of points with a card..sometimes they need recleaning.

Has electric ignition....

Maybe it was slightly unplugged or something when I was cleaning it. Gonna give it another go today. Also could be the carb that was overflowing.

As for carbs get $2 can of valuecraft carb cleaner from autozone.  It goes through varnish like a hot knife through butter.

Spray through all passages and blow out with compressed air.  If the valuecraft is able to pass through all the passageways you are generally good for the cleaning thing.

http://www.autozone.com/fuel-and-engine-cleaners-additives/carburetor-cleaner/valucraft-carburetor-cleaner/523209_0_0/

Floats need to be set to 26mm.
Air screws 1 to 1 1/2 turns out from gently seated.

Make sure tank is spotless by pouring small amount into glass jar.

Cool. Running fresh gas with filter and clear lines. Might still have crud build up in carbs.

Guessing its whacked out carbs...they were so dirty its entirley possible they they may need to be gone througha couple of times.

Its 26 mm from the gasket, correct?

26mm from the black gasket.  Check your fuel by pouring some into mason jar.  If you see anything.  Empty tank and rinse with Kerosene and fill with fresh gas.

Having a clean tank is key.  I would also do that caliper if you have not done already.

Very simple to clean and install new piston without bleeding.

All you do is unhook banjo from MC, fill caliper, install piston.  When you see brake fluid come out up top near MC all air is out of lines.  Reconnect and you should have brake pressure.

Need need for vac or syring.  Do you think that is how Honda did it?  No way.  They could not afford methods that did not work 100% of the time quickly.

5 minutes my way.

I bench synched and did redo the caliper. Also fixed back tire.

If i can get it to run correctly with confidence i will be driving it soon. My boots for airbox are hosed to. Keeping them tight with elec tape to seal for now. Temp fix.

Douse libely with that valuecraft stuff.  I have tried all sprays and this one actually works.  It has the same key ingredient that powdercoater use to strip powdercoat.  Methlychorine.  It will take powdercoat off factory rims.

Wear gloves nasty stuff but works.  I shoot some into my carbs after wintering.

Valuecraft = melt varnish instantly

Cool thanks! Gotta get a new return spring from hardware store too. Itll come together.

When i was putting it back together the first time, i noticed that the fuel needle jets didnt have washers and one was different from the rest....are either of these relevant? Thanks!

They are fiber washer and you need them.  They seal your float needle seat.

Hardware store spring may or may not work.  If not I am sure I got a spare.

Remember it is your life.  I would not skimp on any safety part, or part that make it run.

You can get a better seal on your air box boots by taking them out of the airbox, dropping them in hotwater and tightening them up, and quickly putting the top half back on.

Yes.  Buying those make it easier to adjust your float height as all the valve springs will be the same strength.

You got a good deal at $200, but you are going to have to spend some bucks or deal with a bike that does not run right.

You can duct tape stuff, but you get poor results.  All depends on what you are happy with.  It is your bike.

That good cause we want you to be safe too.  In motorcyle safety school they basically told me "cars want to kill you".  So making sure the bike will go and stop when I want it to is very important to me.

Someone is bearing down on you and your not going big problem.  Can make a fast stop another big problem.

Caliper sticks form home, no tools.  Big pain in the rear.  Got call for help.

I would fill a clear jar 1/4 full with gas.  You need that flow to show you if there is stuff in your tank.  The clear tube does not always work.

After shooting that valuecraft nastiness in your carbs immediately blow out with compressed air.  It turns the varnish to solution and will dry again if not blow out.

Wash hands after.  Be safe out there.
