1973 CB350 Tank Repair

I picked up a CB a few months back and after getting it running I wanted the tank to pop like the rest of the bike.

A less pricey alternative to VMR is rsbikepaint in the UK.  Great color matches and MUCH better prices than VMR.  The only thing is that it is water-based paint.

Does RS ship to the U.S.? If they do, shipping paint might be more expensive than parts. I remember I checked with them a few years back on something else I was doing but it didn't work out because of one or the other.

They ship to the U.S.  I'm in California. Prices were still WAY below VMR and the results were stellar.

Cb750 CRF, guessing that you had a pro spray the paint you got from RS, cuz from what I have heard, waterborne paint is real easy to f up if you don't have some rather expensive specialized equipment?

You guessed correctly.  I have a buddy Andrew Babish who paints all of my bodywork.  He goes by the nickname Bondo and his Instagram handle is bondo214.  Check him out.  His work is amazing.  He just finished painting the race bodywork for former 3-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss - for the Ducati Scrambler Bayliss will be campaigning at American Flat Track Mile tracks this year starting May 24th at Springfield.  Bondo has excellent chops.

The paint job required a epoxy sealer, base, water-base metallic color, clear, black contrast color (lacquer), water-applied tank decal, clear, clear, clear.
