cb400f fuel tube/lines sizing??
« on: July 05, 2014, 11:05:28 PM »
G'day all, I am a little confused with the sizes of tubes I should be ordering for my carby's.
I think after measuring the little nozzles I have come up with 3/16" inside diameter line for the 4 drain points + the 2 breather/vent lines on top between #2 & #3 carby.

And for the actual fuel nozzle in the front between #2 & #3 carby's I've picked the 1/4" inside diameter tubing.

Does this sound right to you knowledgeable guys out there in CB world? I'm not sure and I need to order these parts soon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
JP

Best advice I can give you is to consult the Parts List. http://www.honda4fun.com/materiale-documentazione-tecnica/parts-list/parts-list-cb400
I don't know about he 400 but for the 500 it specifies length as well as diameter.

fuel line is 5.5mm and the two breathers between 2 and 3 are 3.5mm.

All measurements for the bike are metric so don't expect standard measurement line to fit as intended.  That being said I always use the OEM line and I never have to fiddle with clamps or clips.  To each his own though.

Hey guys, thanks for your replies.
Deltarider I used the parts list to check for part numbers and yes you are right about giving you size and length...but when I looked for it on 4into1, DSS some of the parts are discontinued unfortunately.
Harisuluv, I would love to find OEM parts for these fuel lines....which site do you use for orders?
Thanks JP

Dealers may stock the 5.5mm line, the smaller stuff is quite hard to find here at least (Toronto). Try small engine shops (snowmobiles, outboard motors, lawn tractors). Hobby shops with RC car stuff have nice small (not sure if it's 3.5mm but it works) silicon tubing that is good for the carb interconnects, usually in all sorts of sexy colors ... except black.

I sell a kit with the breather lines and fuel line, depending on what your bike is around $20 shipped.  For international it will be a little more obvoiusly.
