Tweakers only! Is it possible to have passenger rear sets?
« on: October 09, 2006, 01:37:26 PM »
I got rask rear sets for my honda cb500. i still have the stock seat so i can still have my girl ride with me. However with the rear sets there is barley enough room for her to place her feet. I was wondering if anyone else has tackled this project. I was thinking of using  rear foot pegs from a different bike, maybe ones with a different mounting style that could place the pegs about 2 inches back.I believe that would give her enough room.  Any thoughts?

Not sure. I'm sure you could fab a mount onto the stock mounts to move the pegs back alittle.

side note, did you loose your kick starter.  I had sold the RAASK's I bought for my 550 because I felt kicker was more important than rear sets.

yeah, whenever I have looked for rearsets, I only options for the rider, not the passenger. Like Chris said, though, it shouldn't be too hard to fab something up.

Aren't her legs wrapped around you when she's on the bike with you?  That's the only way I've ever taken a girl on a bike - she lets me know if anyone is following us  :o

Get a solo seat and another bike  ;)

i dont know, it seems like you would have to weld something in order to have anything sturdy in that region of the bike, but what i do know is that you would get more replies if you changed the title to "help!... how should i mount my girlfriend?"  its just that kind of forum.

good luck

F the passenger. passenger didn't pay all that money for that ride. ;D

i have rear sets also and the rear pegs are very cramped. most girls can get their feet in there just enough. its good for rides around town, but not ok for long trips.

ive thought about coming up with a solution for this as well. but i havent thought into it far enough to give any good help at this point. i have some aftermarket pegs that bolt on with a bolt straight into them instead of an offset bracket. they would lower the pegs enough to work for me i think. i just need a longer bolt and some washers.
