CB550 DCC mini speedo and tach wiring help

I need help with the wiring of these guys. i have the speedo and tach. not sure what wires go to what in the headlight bucket on my CB550F. I have the wiring diagram for both the gauges and the bike but cant get it quite right. Has anyone done this that can help me out?? thanks

Did you guys get this sorted out? I have the mini DCC tach and speedo and have the front end all apart right now.

Stand by Jay. Everything is a mess at the front of my bike right now but I should have things going back together after I get these tapered head bearings in. Then I'll be able to see better where each wire goes and I'll let you know how I hooked it up. Are these the gauges?

OK Jay here goes...

The tach should have:
Black wire that ties into green for ground.
Red wire that ties into black for switched power.

Speedometer should have:
Red/black wire that ties into blue/red for oil pressure.
Red wire AND a green wire that ties into black for switched power.
Yellow/black, black, and a blue/black wires all tie into green for ground.
Orange wire ties into brown/white for speedo lights.
Blue wire goes to blue off the headlight for high beam led.
Green/black wire ties into green/red for neutral light.
Yellow is not used (I don't have turn sigs).

I've got these same gauges and I noticed that the blue high beam LED is crazy bright. I added three 10k ohm resistors inline with this wire. I know that's a lot of resisting, but it's what was needed not to blind me.

hi all,

i'm working on this right now also.  I just got the bullet connector and ratchet crimp from vintage connections and in process of putting them on.  Went thru like 10 already trying to fine tune. 

I have a 77 cb550.  Anyone have pics?  I work better with pics :)

this is the same gauges i have :D

do i need to add bullets to the strip wires?  I also bought from vintage connections the triple sockets in case I need this.

If you intend to hook up indicators you will need to put a shunt in line on the yellow wire from the gauge. Because there is only one indicator wire for the gauge, both right and left side indicators must be joined to this one yellow wire.

That means if you switch on the right side indicators, your left side will flash as well.  So you must use a shunt which will only allow current to flow in one direction to the gauge, and not back out to the other side indicators.

One of the reviews on DCC

"This is a great product. Good to slim down the front of your bike. A note about the turn signal indicator light and the fact that there is only one while many stock indicator panels have two lights. Some reviewers suggest using diodes to prevent your turn signals from turning into hazard lights (current runs through the indicator and to both turn signal circuits). I installed this on a Honda CB550K4 which has a turn signal buzzer and used it's circuit for the indicator. Not only does this result in the single indicator light behaving as expected, but also was a good excuse to get rid of the buzzer (which is pretty annoying). (Posted on 2/25/2015)"
