Where Do I Get a Seat Like This?
« on: April 28, 2015, 08:14:21 PM »
Classic Cycle City used to sell these, but they seem to be down right now:

Anywhere else this type of seat can be sourced?

Or does anyone have one they want to part with?

they are modeled / styled after the Giuliari seats that were available in the 70's. Its still possible to find them if your patient.
Classic Cycle City has an ebay store and they sell most of whats on that site, including parts to restore Giuliari's. If its not available email and ask about it but keep the english simple, there english seems to be quite weak. If you speak German then you got it made!

I can't vouch for them or their quality but this site has tons of styles for these bikes, some seem similar.

I have bought NOS parts from Classic Cycle City before on EBay where they also sell: http://www.ebay.de/usr/ccc_classiccyclecity
I can translate if you like. I am currently stationed in Germany and I am in command of the language. The seats they have look awesome. It looks as if they are preparing a U.S. outlet.

Motorcycles Seats Direct is a Vietnamese--apparently reliable--company. Somebody here is selling a K7 seat he had made by them. They also sell on EBay and have very positive feedback. They make any seat you want, and are certainly cheaper than their German competitor. However, I do really like the design of the CCC seats better.

I have purchased parts from Classic Cycle City several times to my CB750. No problem with English when asking them about the parts. They might get the seat if asking them.
Steel braided oil lines, Ikon shocks, various aftermarket as well as NOS parts.
Their Heavy Duty primary chains made my engine to run with less rattle.

That's very good of you, and thank you for your service in Germany.

I've sent them an email on the German eBay website with a link to the seat I desire:

Hello,

Do you have this seat available?

http://www.classiccyclecity.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=96

Thank you!

Let's give them a day or two to respond; if I fail to hear from them I will likely take you up on your kind offer.

I promptly got a response. The seat is a bolt-on replacement, comes with the hinges, only the old lock has to be used from the stock seat. It only comes in Candy Gold Customs--which is the correct color for the K1 and K2. As expected, not cheap: 439.00 Euros. Shipping within Germany is 8.00 Euros, shipping to the U.S. is $ 45.00 Euros.

1 EUR = 1.11591 USD 1 USD = 0.896128 EUR

Quote

Preis: EUR 439,00  + Versand Deutschland: EUR 8,00

Versand in die USA: EUR 45,00

Good to know about Ted.  I wonder if you get a US Dollar price in the same number of Euros.
