Anybody know if there were any differences in the cams from early to later models?

Not rich enough to be "eccentric."

To my knowledge, the American models all came with the same cam. There is a German cam for the CB650 that significantly reduces hp due to their emissions laws, but other than that, there are no other differences that I know of. Check with Volker_P on
http://hondacb650.com
to make sure.

I believe all North American 650 cams are the same spec. One of the reasons they have become pricey and scarce on the used parts market.
