No, I'm running the Bridgestone Spitfires the PO put on my 550.  3,000 miles since I bought it and they're still doing great.  I recall reading Hondaman's high reccommendations of Continental TT1100's for the 500/550's.  (found it! here --> http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=7401.msg67253#msg67253) I've also read good things about Metzelars.  Whatever the brand, try to match the stock sizes if you're running stock rims or you'll risk potential handleing issues with odd profiles and early tread wear.

just put new Dunlop D404's on my 750 K4, front and back. huge improvement over the old Cheng Shin that was on there!
I would certainly call it an upgrade, a good mid price choice in my mind.

just my 2 cents!

I have D404 mounted on my 1978 CB550K. No complaints. Plenty of grip, price was fair.

I agree on the D404's. Good price in my book, I have about 3,000 miles on a set and no complaints at all.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I put this (.pdf attachement) together a while ago for my 550, ignore the prices 'cause they're old and I don't recall where they came from anyway.

I just bought a 404 for my GL1000. What a big difference it was over the C/S. My buddy Mark has a 72 500 and has the S-11's. I rode the bike on an old bike run through the mountains here and those tire are great. I was looking at the S-11 and 404. I do more wet weather and the extra sipping (SP) in the 404 would be better for the weather. From what I have read and heard from people is the S-11 is also very good in wet weathers. I think there both great tires.

Is anyone running the Bridgestone Accolade tires?  I really like their retro look and they are H rated.

I used to run a set of Dunlop K591's, but didn't get the mileage I would have liked out of them.  Switched to K491's and they seem to last longer with the same handling.  Haven't tried the 404's.

I was reviewing your chart and looking at your rear tire size. You run a 110 in the rear? is this correct? that seems awfully narrow for a 4.0 rim.

Yup, 110.  I recall that it's the closest metric size to 4.00, actually I think it was a hair wider.  When I get time, I'll look into the metric/inch conversions - I hve something somewhere.  But now I'm off on my 4x dailey run to pump out my parents house & refill the generator I have over there.
