Handle Bar Bolt Torque Specs
« on: May 05, 2015, 07:11:58 AM »
How's it going guys and gals? I have a 1974 CB750 and I am replacing my old rusty handlebar bolts that clamp down my indicator panel. I couldn't find any specific torque specs online but they are 8mm bolts. Should I just follow the standard 8mm bolt torque spec or is there something specific that I am missing? Thank you in advance for any help and information!

I went with standard for 8mm hex heads... 15 ft/lbs

I just get all four seated and then tighten down the front two first and the bottom two after. Just good and tight. Not sure of torque spec. Never had an issue.

I don't think there is a particular torque spec for those bolts.  15 ft/lbs is a good general rule.
