I am finally putting my Z1 together.
« on: May 03, 2015, 11:33:56 AM »
After about four months of getting the parts ready for my build I am finally putting my Z1 together. So far it's all Kawasaki, either original or NOS. The pipes are reproductions but they are not quite ready to go on.

I sent the gauges off to Don Fulsang, the same guy that does all our triple gauges. I had the mileage set to 0 because it is a new bike inside and out. I should be done in a few weeks. It takes a while to fine tune all the parts to correctness, sometimes you have to use a few bolts or screws that aren't perfect until the correct ones come in. The head nuts are not correct, the right ones are still in transit somewhere. Plus, I'm going very slowly because fu#$ups are very costly. ;)

Great resto - looking forward to see it finished. Do you have any before pictures ?  Those are fun to look at to appreciate the transformation.

This is what I have of the bike before I started.

I bought these both about the same time. I ride the 74, it runs great.

Looks like it had very good bones going for it. How far from the original owner was it ? Bet not too far. Best year to take it to the max.   Eric
