RE: Reverse comstar with drum brake
« on: May 01, 2015, 07:00:57 AM »
I found a reverse comstar with drum brake with is kinda cool as it is the 18" rear I am looking for.  The only problem is that it comes empty without the sprocket mount or brake.

Will my drum and sprocket mount work?  Thanks in advance.

It might help to know what drum and sprocket mount you have?

I have a 1976 cb750K model.

The same seller has this for sale.

It looks like it is a CB750G which is a European model.  It would be nice if they fit as there would be no extra parts to buy.

That is not the black reverse comstar. It is the regular silver comstar found on the 78-750A, and many goldwings. They can be found in the US also. They were known for having the rivets along the rim working loose. Which lead To the replacement by the black comstar.

You would probably need the brake panel, and sprocket carrier also.

They used those on the cb400t as well, the wife's 78 400twin has them. Not bad looking but not stellar imho.

I would agree, but I have a PC setup to make them look what I hope will be stunning.  Not crazy about rivets working loose.  Can they be substituted with other rivets or bolts.

Is the 78-750A 18" rear the 750G is 18"

That would be great.  You have the 18" rear drum?
