Carb cleaning question....

What is good to soak Carbs in? Acetone ok? also what should I remove besides the boots prior to letting them sit in whatever solvent is good to clean them? Also for how long? Thanks!

There are a lot of carb cleaning posts if you do a search. Unless your carbs are super clean, just soaking them won't do much good. They need to be taken apart and have the passages cleaned out.  Some of the threads have pictures and tips.

Bobby's right the carbs need to be disassembled if one of the carbs has one piece of blockage in at the bike will not run correctly and the only way to do it right would be to tear the carbs down go to the right top of the home page and the search carb cleaning carb disassembling you'll find a thread that somebody has already done this,the only other way to do it would be to take the carbs off and take them to a local motorcycle shop and have them cleaned it's more expensive that way but the only way you're going to learn is to do it good luck Jim
