another michigan guy
« on: April 29, 2015, 10:55:17 AM »
hey all,
name is collin, i live in michigan (metro detroit) and i just bought my first bike.  picked up a 75 cb400f over the weekend and have been all smiles since.  i've been wanting a bike for a while (forever) but the new stuff just doesn't do it for me.  i've been eying these bikes for a few years thinking and dreaming.  finally got the stones and the cash at the same time, the stars aligned and the bike presented itself.  now she's mine all mine.  No real plans for the bike yet, i think it's fine as is - after all it's what attracted me to the bike in the first place, but who knows.

i'm pretty good mechanically, absolutely no fabrication ability, have only worked on cars and have disapproval from the wife.  so, i look forward to interacting with you all on these forums.  thanks for being a wealth of knowledge leading up to my purchase of this bike.

Hey Collin, welcome.  :)  That CB400 looks mighty nice, I wouldn't mess with it, just make sure it's in good shape and git down the road.

Being a new rider, get your CY endorsement from MSF first.

I think there is an e-course, you can study at home before your class.

Then come out to Stockbridge on Sunday for All Clubs Day, if you want to stoke your passion and see some vintage iron.

Welcome from Kalamazoo Noob...don't take that 400 for granted.  It's tough to find a good one and that looks good

Kevin, I may make it to Stockbridge Sunday.  I will look out for ya.  I will probably ride my VF500 Interceptor.
If it works good, it looks good...

Thanks for the welcoming, been riding everyday since insured/registered.  No buyers remorse here!

Thanks Kevin, I've been CY endorsed for a few years.  Done a lot of riding just never owned one.
