CB650Z: Caliper spindle seal
« on: May 05, 2015, 11:13:53 PM »
There are two thin rubber seals on each spindle bolt on the front calipers. See the attached pics. I'm having trouble sourcing new ones, but I can't really see the purpose of these seals?

A part.no./replacement would be great.

Thanks.

They're not really seals. They're a rubber sleeve that goes in the middle of the caliper mounting bolt, and sits inside the caliper body. They let the caliper move with the wear of the brake pads without producing a neverending rattle.

I don't have a replacement source or part number for you, though.

I would call it a bushing more than a seal. Honda part # 45134425013

Thanks guys, great info. That explains the clunking after the rebuild.. not the leaks though  ::)
