Dad & Lad Projects
« on: May 06, 2015, 11:35:51 PM »
Hi All
New member from UK
I had 750/4 F1's in the late 70's plus many other bikes, however my love for the F1 has always been there.
In 1999 I did a full restoration of an F1 which looked great and then decided to move onto modern bikes. my last bike was a GSX 1400.
I stopped riding due to health conditions and started restoring classic cars with my son for the last 5 years as our hobby.

Eventually both my sons decided to take the bike test and get full licences. This spurred the eldest son to start a project bike which he decided was 750/4 F1.( New member jnr81 ).having just retired i could not resist we had 2 bikes for us to build 1 to original 1 to a bobber,so we bought another for for myself.
The F1 is a 1978 mainly unmolested but in need of full restoration, not been on road for 25 years and an excellent template for the other 2 projects.
within 2 hours of getting it home we had it fired up and work has not stopped since.

All good fun and to have a 750/4 again is a great hobby even if I only use it on Sundays and sunny days.It will be a pleasure working and sharing knowledge with my lad and I am sure if we get stuck someone will have the answer.

Cheers

Keith Snr

Welcome copper, this is a great place for information and help. By the way, a 78 F is an F3, not F1, the F0-F1's {75-76}have spoked wheels, F2 and F3 {77-78} have comstar mag wheels... ;)

Hi thanks for update not being funny, however in Uk it may be different to your information
The F1 was available up to late 78  (S or T Reg) with spoked wheels, I bought 1 in 78 new from dealer T reg
The F2 was also introduced in 78 with the comstar wheels and different paint scheme black engine and forks with twin discs
Sure we will have numerous variances on supply from a national forum

Cheers
