Awesome awesome ride tonight
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:50:03 PM »
The heat's coming down, so I took off for a ride after finally syncing the carbs.

I have to say I apologize for doubting all those who said syncing the carbs will dramatically change the bike's behavior.  It does, and I only did a half-assed job of it, totally ignored the #3 carb (it's really hard to get to tucked under that frame bar).  I am astounded at how much better it idles, how much smoother the power comes on, how much more responsive it feels.  It wasn't even that far out of balance either.

I'll have to finish the job this weekend.  But lastly, I am convinced that I finally tracked down my electrical short in the turn signals.  That stupid loose ground screw in the rear signal - all it was.  Now everything works perfectly fine.

Only a few things to chase down - replace the bands for the airbox boots and find an airbox boot for the #3 carb.

Glad you got it figured out. I have a vac sync tool in West Seattle.

Where id you ride too? I love riding around Seattle late in the summer evenings after traffic has died down. I go around Alki Beach and then up to Ballard for a beer, especially on Backfire Moto Night. Lot's of other cool bikes around the city.

Oh I'm the terror of Issaquah-Hobart Road.  I'm a south-sider.
