carbon fiber cloth/mat

Has anyone used carbon fiber cloth or mat with polyester resin, the type that comes with standard autoparts type fiberglass repair kits?

I met a guy a few years ago who worked at a local hobby shop that claimed to have had good results laying up RC glider fuselages with carbon fiber mat and a vaccum bag system. Never saw his results though, and don't know what type of resin he was using. You might have some luck calling those kind of places and asking for the resident CF geek.  :)

Take a look around at Tap Plastics.  They've got pretty good descriptions of the materials & what works well together etc.  They also have all kinds of supplies & ship really fast.

or you can get epoxy resin at most boating stores, much stronger than polyester  ;) remember temperature and humidity are critical when using epoxy resins and you should also use a vacuum bag if possible
