Mid-80's CB700SC
« on: May 15, 2015, 06:39:40 AM »
Hello,

I made some space in the garage and came across a few CB700SC bikes. I was really looking for 80's CB750F but these caught my attention: hydraulic lifters, shaft drive, styling.

Anyone here had any experience, feedback on these? Are they any good? What should I be looking for when inspecting?

Thanks!

I understand they were the USA version of the CBX750F, or at least shared features with it.

I had CBX750 in Prague and loved it, great sport touring bike, 6 speed - with a chain drive actually.  In two it had no problem cruising all day long 120 mph.  It was so smooth that you never noticed how fast you were going.

I would love to have  700.

Damn that CBX is nice... Say what you will about the 80's, they could design nice bikes back then.

Another bike that seems will never make it over here and I would buy in a heart beat is the CB650f

Come on Honda USA...

The CB700SC got great reviews when it came out. Strong performance and maintenance free. I think they look terrific too. I would love to own one.

Lot of different 700's during the Harley tariff era. Glad the company 'survived'    ::)

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately the few that were around here are gone... Good information for sure.
