Is my headlight housing original?
«

Hi all. I just picked up my first cb550 and this forum has been extremely helpful. I ordered an emgo switch (before I knew about the mixed reviews) but my headlight housing hits the back of the switch. It's the right switch so now I have to wonder if my headlight housing is original. Anyone else run into this problem? Hopefully my attachments come through and I've added a pic of the bike since I'm sure someone would ask

Looks like the aftermarket one is a little long. Maybe try cleaning up the inside of your original

Ya I will probably purchase an original on eBay. My original switch broke In an unrepairable way. I'm surprised no one else that has purchased the emgo switch has run into this issue. It was a pretty tight fit even with the original so it made me wonder if the housing was the culprit.

Wrong headlight bucket dude. Correct should have HM-32M stamped on it for a Supersport. Used the same one on CB500T, early Goldwings, 75-76 CB750F also.
This is the correct shape.

Yep, you have the K headlight bucket. You need the shallower F bucket.

Ah alright! Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'll be ordering a headlight bucket. I made a couple of brackets to extend my current bucket out for the time being. A little ghetto but works for now ha
