Thanks, what about maintenance parts? Oil/air filters? oil o-rings? etc. still OEM? or aftermarket are just fine? Just wondering since something as simple as air filters are almost 3-4x aftermarket.

Buy a K&N air filter.

If you get a K&N oil filter, you'll get new orings for the housing, too.

Any suggestions where I can pick these up? Or is it something auto zone / advance auto parts would carry?

Buy direct from K&N. www.knfilters.com (or .ca if in canada). Select your vehicle.

Holy, is there any reason why the air filter is so expensive? Also do the carbs needs to be readjusted for the K&N air filter in the stock air box?

You buy one of these for the life of the bike. They are washable. Paper filters you replace when they get dirty... and at 10$ a pop... it adds up.

I did not readjust my carbs, nor do most others.

Holy, is there any reason why the (K&N?) air filter is so expensive?

I believe K&N filters are guaranteed for life. Wash them out by soaking in soapy water, rinse, AIR dry, and apply your favorite filter oil. Good for another 5K to 10K miles.

Sorry first time ever seeing this but applying filter oil? Is this something I would have to buy with the air filter and apply prior to putting it in or just for future maintenance? and is this a thing? like should I have been applying oil to all my air filters or just a Honda thing?

Also just noticed this while browsing one of the recommended sites, is this the oil that you're referring to?

http://www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?itemDescription=K%26N+AIR+FILTER+SQUEEZE+OIL+8+oz.&item=TU40-2008

Just reusable filters need oil. They also ship pre-oiled, so no need to buy any just yet. You get "recharging" kits (soap/cleaner, new oil) from any local auto parts store.

Where to buy parts to a CB750?
It depends where you live.
In Europe: davidsilver.com, Mentioned cmsnl.com
ebay: ac-motorradteile, ClassicCycleCity, MD-Motorradteile

From USA if the shipping is OK like Z1parts.net, jtmarks77, nichecyclesupply and plenty of others.
Ebay for all: cruzinimage_co is known for the cheap 836 kit. I installed a clutch a few days ago from that seller and I use their carb boots too.
yamiya750.com has plenty of good stuff. I have got som really nice parts from them like new tank complete with side covers 4-4 etc etc...
Check with MRieck on this forum if you need to upgrade the power. He has helped me with std stuff too.

O-rings have threads here where they are discussed. The 4 o-rings under the cam towers are often too thin will not have rubber pressing against the towers. rubber pucks same thing, some are thinner. I got correct parts recently from ac-motorradteile (Andy Cepok).
Classiccyclecity has reinforced primary chains. You must contact them for that. Good lookng IKON shocks too.
Search on ebay.

Do not forget Hondaman on this forum. He has a good ignition module that work with std points. Order TEC point plate from jtmarks77. I did both. Hondaman has some good upgrades too.

APE and CycleX has upgrade parts and engine restore parts.

EDIT: I have found good parts here too: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/everettpowersportspartsinstock/
I order small parts from ebay UK. Ign plugs, bearings, gaskets when they have good prices and low shipping cost within Europe.
Hot chili powder and fresh ones too :P

I got filters from Z1 and was happy with their service. I don't drive much so several of each filter will last me for years.

If it's something small and it's getting shipped across the border it's usually cheaper to just get it from my local Honda dealer.

jeremy

Might be a stupid question but is Z1 the same as http://www.z1enterprises.com/ ?
Yes it is.

Assuming it's different from the z1parts.net suggested above?

I didn't realize there was a .net as well. I used Z1 Enterprises.
