Every Part for a 1969 CB750 Sandcast
« on: May 14, 2015, 03:42:23 PM »
Hi everyone,

I am about to show my Sandcasts at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel CA on Saturday. Here they are:

I also thought I would share a photo that I took of the Candy Blue Green Sandcast (#410) during its restoration. If there is enough interest, I may sell it as a poster to fellow members!

Terrific, U!
If you make posters, please PM me? The blue one is/was what I have always wanted, since 1969!

Do you have a tally by chance of how many parts you have laid out there ?

What an excellent picture.  That would be a fun way to do a restoration.  Have every part ready to go and just put it together.

Do you have a tally by chance of how many parts you have laid out there ?
By my count there are about 2140 parts in a sandcast.  That's going by the quantities in the parts book.  So that is not every single part, for example that does not include every part in the carbs.  It wasn't that hard to do, I have a spreadsheet that has every part in the parts book.  By the way, there are 357 washers with over 40 different sizes and types.   ::)  :D

Heck, I'd buy a high resolution file of that beauty.  For myself only - not to sell.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

That would make a great poster, I'd love to have that on my wall. Let me know if you decide to sell a high res image or prints.

If anybody would know that total it would be you Mark. I have seen that spreadsheet posted and that is some very useful info for the folks. I would have never thought there were that many different washers, cool bit of trivia.
