Delkevic Stainless? - Opinions Please - Expensive Exhaust Systems

Why are they so expensive?

Any reasonably priced systems out there for the mid 70's CB750K?

A 4 into 2 or 4 into 1 would be fine...

I have a new MAC 4 into one but it's for a 1981 DOHC 750F which I had a few years ago. I don't think it will fit the K.

Try it should fit if you use studs.
Why are  they expensive?..  Well they are not really if you compare them to current bikes..
A half exhaust for a Ducati..1500...bux..5 years ago..

Guys north of Denver doing stainless 4 into 1 that is VERY reasonably priced. looks great too. Of course I have forgotten their name. About half the price of a set of wheels  ;)

The 4-1 are very cheap in USA compared with here in Europe that order them from USA. Add shipping of $100-150. Upon that + 30% of the total price of part + shipping..... a nice $500 4-1 cost for me 650x 1,3= >800

In a way I guess we should feel fortunate that new ones are even still being built for 40 year old machines. Now if someone could make some nice, good looking, reasonably priced 4 to 4's -   Hmmm

Thanks Frank... the fitment seems to be close but not perfect on the exhaust ports. Are they supposed to line up perfectly or do you wrestle them into place? Also, can you explain the use of studs?

They say they fit but there could be differences with rear mounts, centerstand, etc..
 By studs I mean like the 77/78.  750, all use...Same mounts as dohc, as far as I know.

About the only good-looking 4-4 exhaust I've seen is under the tail section of an MV Agusta...

Well, maybe I can use it after all. I'll do some research on the difference between the K and the F mounting systems and I can get the header to line up, it will save me a chunk of change!

That's assuming no one wants to trade my new 1981 750F MAC 4 into 1 for a 1976 750K?

Why should we feel fortunate? If there is a market for people that need exhaust pipes they will be made.

It seems to be well made and a good price for stainless @ $319.00 US,  but what do you make of the springs holding the collector to the headers? Unusual, good design, dorkey or ?

Do you happen to know what size studs I need to buy if I'm going to try mounting the 1981 CB750F MAC 4 into 1 exhaust I have kicking around on my 1976 CB750K build?

... and I'm still wondering if anyone has used the Delkevic 4 into 1 stainless option and can provide an opinion?

New Russ Collins 4-1 would be nice, both models, K0-K6 and K7 with a more angled version after the collector as I had on my K6. If the design should be changed, a little bit slimmer collector with better ground clearance, 4-2-1 as a 2:nd alternative. Same Megaphone.

I really regret I sold my RC 4-1 for +30 years ago, it was scratched and dented but possible to repair...

I got around to unboxing my yesterday, and I have to say I am impressed.  Everything is tight.  Neat welds looks like vintage metal stitching.  It is heavy construction so for those of you looking for weight reduction this is not the ticket for that.

I was hoping the weight would be the same as motogp.  That said this thing should outlast your bike.  Finish has a nice luster, but not too shiny like chrome.  You probablly could go high polish, but it looks great out of the box.  So why bother.

Been too busy to mount up.  The header I have has a nice upsweep to bolt up an external megaphone, but at $319 it is the proverbial "offer you can't refuse".

I'd get another.  Stainless goodness for less than the cost of MAC!  Can't go wrong there.

No problem.  Let us know how the megaphone looks.  I am not a fan of standard mega, but for the price you can't be it.  Sometimes it is nice to have something that "just works".

I have to say I'm very impressed with this system as well. We got it installed on my 1976 CB750K build today and it fit remarkably well with very little fiddling. The stainless steel looks just great! The oil filter housing is accessible, the center stand fits and they even have a built in rubber stop for the center stand to hit when it's up. I'll post some pictures soon! For those of you looking for a reasonably priced alternative to a MAC, this may be just the ticket.
