Bill Benton
« on: May 24, 2015, 05:49:21 PM »
I suppose I should have asked his permission before posting this information but I know how many friends that Bill Benton has on this board and I wanted to share with you guys that Bill's father passed away this afternoon.  He went into the hospital while Bill and Trey were on their trip but I believe that Bill was able to be with there with the family as they made the decision this morning to remove his father from life support.

Bill's such a good person and great friend to so many of us on this board so please join me in praying for Bill and his family during this difficult time.

Well done, Ron! Bill is such a humble man, doubt he'd have let it out so as not to impose on others. But he certainly deserves all the support and thoughts from so many friends he has around the globe.

Guys like Bill are quite rare. They do so much, ask for so little, but make a huge impact on those people with whom they have contact. He's an enduring personal to not because he's bravado, or loud, but because his warmth and honesty pools straight out. I've heard it said that "Bill knows no strangers". I could not agree more with that assessment.

One can only assume with confidence that Bills father must have been the cat's pajamas too! to have turned out a bloke like Bill, with Bill still cherishing the man, that says it all about Mr Benton Sr. for me. A man I'll never know, but will surely miss on this earth.

Godspeed indeed, Mr Benton Sr.! And to you, Bill, all the best that can be found is our wish for you-

Spoke with Bill a few nights ago. He wanted to let you know he is doing okay and very thankful for all your support. We were already reminiscing about the trip and talking about Memphis. He is a lucky man to have gotten to enjoy many years with his father who was 87 at the time of passing, and the family was thankful he didn't have to suffer.. Bill goes out of his way to make sure we are all taken care of, I just hope whatever he needs we can do the same!

We thinkin' about ya bro

Just spoke with Bill this morning.  He seems to be holding up well.  But it's never easy to lose your dad.  Luckily he has a garage and house full of two wheeled distractions to keep him occupied.  Expect an appearance at Memphis, riding or not.
