I have a 74 cb550 that I had a top end rebuild done to last year. Everything else on the engine is stock including carbs and air box, the exception being a Mac 4 into 1 exhaust. For a year the bike has run very well. A week ago the bike stalled at a couple of stop signs. It didn't bog, it stopped as if the key had been turned off. It would start right back up and be fine. 2 days ago I started the bike, it idled fine, revved in neutral, sounded great, put the bike in 1st, let the clutch out and again it stopped. No bogging. Restarted it several times, made sure I had plenty of revs and it would stop like someone turned the key off.
Is there any type of switch associated with the clutch?
Could it be that the clutch is cooked? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Bemil
