Countries Leaders
« on: May 29, 2015, 12:29:09 PM »
This not really political but about the quality of leadership in times past I just saw a scrip from a Doctor saying that MR Churchill was to be allowed alcohol as much as he wanted with dinner, signed, the whole thing, now you got to think how much charm did Winston use to get that bit of usefulness or maybe it was threats what ever, brilliant, what cunning, kind of makes the current crop of leaders look like what they are, pale imitations of the real thing. Any how it's too bad there are none the equal today. Hat off to a greater mind than mine.

Doctors are people and they can have hero worship like anyone else. To be Winston Churchill's personal Physician assures you a large group of well heeled patients. The guy is going to drink anyway, so you write him a silly script.

Elvis had Dr. Nick that kept him in pills and the list goes on.

If Churchill was a drunk, we need more drunks and fewer of these #$%*s than we have now.

Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

One of the things that stood out for me during the recent General Election here in the UK was that none of the party leaders seem to have any statesman-like qualities. WC had a presence that you just don't seem to see anymore. I wouldn't be confident that any of the present crop could step up to the plate like he did, lets hope there's never a call for it.

Winston Churchill later in his life did not drink or smoked  much, just kept the show up for the public.
