cb650 vb44A cv carbs pressed in jet removal?
« on: May 28, 2015, 11:47:31 AM »
I have read and read and read...anyone know a good way to remove the pilot jets that are pressed i to the carb bodies? Just got a fresh 82 with 7k miles on it but the idle circuits are all outta whack. Im trying to stay away from running a wood screw into them and using a slide hammer like i have read others discussing from years back. I have a set of vb44C carbs that have threaded jets that i can use but i dont want to scrap the idea of using the set that came on the bike i just picked up.

On PD carb pressed in jets, I just wrapped them with a scrap piece of thin leather and grab with vice grips and pull. May have to twist and pull, but don't rock back and forth.

Soak with PB Blaster or the like first.

The VB carbs are way diff than that.

If its a 82 they should screw in.    81 they didnt.
