73' CB500 Four
« on: July 27, 2016, 06:15:22 PM »
I have finally put this bike back together almost completely.

Engine is mounted
wires are all ran through and attached to the frame.

I need to install:
turn signals
carbs (they are getting cleaned)
I ordered a new CL77 headlamp housing because the one I have is missing a receiver for a mounting bolt. Sure, I could JB weld some washers and a nut but I found another housing for 26 bucks so I just bought that to save time. Ill have to sand prime and paint it anyway.
side mounted/relocated tachometer
throttle and grips and cables.

I plan on handing this bike over to a mechanic as soon as I'm done with it to give it a once over and make sure everything is done properly...I don't really trust myself considering its the first time Ive ever touched a bike.

What do you guys think?

Looks pretty nice! On your front end, the speedo cable needs some type of restraint. Since you ditched the front fender, you no longer have the retainer loop, but you do need something that prevents it from rubbing the tire but allows it to move with the steering. Ditto on the front brake cable.

Color looks really great-

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
