Stripping Side Covers
« on: May 31, 2015, 10:59:07 AM »
Is there a chemical method to stripping the side covers that wont ruin the plastic?  Or do I just need sand paper and a lot of free time?

I too have not found a chemical safe for the plastic. I used a small paint scraper the last time.  The paint is brittle and scrapes pretty easy but you need to be careful with the scrape ends to avoid digging in.

If you're just repainting, I would scuff and respray. If you're going to put nice paint on it, I'd get some reproduction ones and start there.
