Well, the Tigers are a hell of a team and congrats to them. I was rooting for them all season - for the AL anyway. STL won the pennant, the World Series is just a bonus for me. I just hope they don't get swept again. As far as Detroit being due, well, I think they need to get in line. STL has been doing great the last several years but just haven't been able to grab that ring. The Tigers have looked pretty shabby until this year so they need to put in their time.

I think it'll be a good series though.

Well I am a bit of a Louisville fan too.

Actually, this is shaping up to be a good year for me sports-wise. I'm a rabid fan of the STL Cards, Indianapolis Colts and Ohio State Buckeyes!

If Michigan and Ohio State keep up their undefeated seasons, the meeting in November should be quite a show. Just wish it was going to be in Ann Arbor this year so I could go out in the yard and hear the crowd roar.

be heald on New Years Eve in Chicago ! Ya, these tickets are friggin GOLD right now, and are only going up in value.

Thanks. Winning the AL pennant is nothing to sneeze at though. The Tigers did a heck of a job this year but I think cruising in and the week's rest was their downfall. That's what happened the past 2 years with the Cards. They had to claw and scrape this year and just carried that mentality into the NLCS and WS.

It's a shame few people were interested this year though. I guess if you're not from NY or fighting a "curse," it just doesn't count.

We'll still take it though!

Nothing against you Michigan fans that have a reason to be. I just HATE that so many people are fans just because its trendy.

On the way back to my car after the Bengals(WHO DEY!)- Panthers game I witnessed a man in a Michigan sweatshirt being harasses by some rowdy fans. When asked if he went to Michigan, he said no. Did his parents go?.. no. Children?..no. Friends?..no. Did he ever live in Michigan?.. no. So why was he wearing a Michigan sweatshirt??....... "I dont know.. I just like them."

I can understand liking certain teams more than others if you follow the sport and know the rivalries and the players and coaches, but why are so many people such avid fans of college teams they have absolutely no connection to?

Please help me understand!

Well, I'm a big Buckeye fan, but i didn't go there. I just always liked them. My band teacher in high school went there and he took me with him, and his son (who was also my best friend at the time), to a couple of games. We even got to sit with the band on the sidelines. Ed (my friend) ended up graduating from there and becoming a band teacher himself. He even went back to OSU to be a "Student Director" with the band a few years ago.

I would root for my school but the Indiana Vocational Technical College doesn't have a football team.

And yes, the Reds (my #2 MLB team) were toe-to-toe with the Cards all year. They just sucked a little more than the Cards did toward the end.

I couldn't give a crap about college sports.

I didn't watch a minute of the MLB playoffs this year. I was semi interested when the Twins were still around, because I live in MN. BUT, I was born, raised, and will die a Cubs fan. That means, I am NOT a fan of the Cardinals or White Sux. I didn't watch the WS specifically because the Cards were in it, I just didn't care. Plus the Cubs sucked so bad this year it was hard for me to be interested in baseball much into June.

This is just me. I'm sure others have there reasons for not watching.
