I agree that it is entertaining stuff. If only to watch the bidders. I always laugh when I see some fat cat with a cute young gal beside him, bidding on that old Corvette (or what not). I can just imagine the conversation..

Gal: "Honey I really like that cute car. Buy it for me."
Fat Cat: "But Snookums I wanted to wait for the Hemi/Rolls Royce/whatever!"
Gal, pouting: "If you don't buy me that car there will be no rumpty tumpty for the next month....."
Fat Cat: "Sigh."

It boggles the mind how much people are prepared to pay for their dream car. But in reality I guess it is only a difference of scale compared to the enthusiast who will happily drop five figures for a sandcast.

426ragtop - don't know for sure, but Duster might post from the office and  have gone home for the weekend by now.
There are lots of friendly rivalries of the "my bike is better than your bike" type here. Seems to be a  tradition - a divisive debate that promotes group bonding ???  There is a 78 K8/F3 thing.  Both sides think their bike is the peak of 750 sohc development. One side is probably  more right than other.  ;) :)     With 567 miles, your bike is better than most everybodys....
