Will 550 carbs work on a 500?
« on: June 06, 2015, 04:44:01 PM »
Guy in town has carbs for 40 bucks. Says he took them off a 550. My 500 carbs are missing jets.

These even 550 carbs?

Not too sure what kind of carbs those are, but their definitely not 550 carbs. For 40 bucks though buy them suckers.

they look like 77/78 550 carbs to me (PD's?) - I only have older keihin carbs so not positive

If they are you will need the other intake rubber as they are different on the 500/earlier 550 carbs

Also the jets are different - in fact I don't think you'll find any interchangeable parts between the two sets

They are PD carbs but not from a '78 550K. Different throttle return spring design than the one I have on Angie. Also, looks like the choke control springs are missing.
