Cyclex super rods - rod bolts
« on: June 10, 2015, 03:06:32 am »
Just bought a set of new cyclex super rods from a forum member, that were installed on a crank and never run or the crank installed.
My question is would you run the rod bolts..?
Even though they've been installed, I'm feeling uneasy doing so (stretch etc) maybe I'm paranoid, but I consider rod bolts as a throwaway item - but these haven't been run, any input.....
I can't see spare bolts for sale on cyclex's site.....do they sell bolts/nuts separately..?

Thanks.

Lump........you should be more concerned with the PO over torqueing them than if and how the motor was run IMO.  I would contact Cycle X and see what they say, they might have a stretch spec you can measure.
