Hello from Virginia
« on: June 12, 2015, 11:08:52 PM »
Thought I would drop in for a quick intro. Currently ride an 05 sportster and a 93 DR650. Selling the DR650 and going to put the proceeds into this 1975 cb550 I picked up a few weeks ago. Bought it just like it is in the pics. Previous owner was going to cafe it and lost interest. Bike only has 14399 miles on it. Anyways I just got back from out of town the other day and plugged the important connectors back together and with a charged battery I cranked it to life!

Thanks guys. I live in Climax Virginia. Immediate plans for the bike are to get it ridable this year so I can at least get to ride it some. When winter hits I may strip it down and refurbish it. I may turn it into a bike with a flat tracker look. I like what everyone is doing with the cafe look but think I want to try something a little different.

I will keep that in mind. I wont part it out but am sure some stock parts wont be used again. I will let you know when the time comes. How much do you think those pipes are worth? I realize they are a popular item and may let them go. They do have some rusted ppaces on them and may be rusted through in some places. Are they junk or are people going through the expense of restoring these pipes?
