Hi guys,
I've been "planning" on buying an sohc bike for over 2 years now, and I finally pulled the trigger. 1976 CB750F. 18k miles. Only rust on the thing seems to be on the center stand. The bike sat from 1994 until recently, so the tank needs cleaning out. But it's been preserved quite well in a garage. Starts on half a kick with a bit of fuel in the carbs.
The PO says the front end and rear swimgarm are from a '79 CB750F in order to get dual front disks. It would be great if someone could confirm for when I buy rebuild parts. See pics.
Highlights:
- 18k original miles
- converted to electronic ignition (looks like pamco)
- Dual disk conversion from a '79 CB7750F (see pics / questions)
- came with new tires, tubes, brake pads, and steel brake lines
Hopefully these IMG tags work
Here it is when I picked it up. The Windjammer was the first thing to come off (for sale if anyone wants it - best offer)
Here's the bike with the tank and seat off. Looks really clean under here:
Here is the front end. Do these parts look like they're from a '79 750F? Note the air filler valves at the top of the fork tubes.
Master Cylinder. I think this is still from the '76 single disk? :
HUGE brake splitter that looks to be from a GL1000?
Can any experts confirm what front end parts I have on this bike?
