So, I was given this 1976 (11/75 build date) CB750. Complete but dropped on left side and poor patch on engine cover....fix that later. Last ran 2 yrs ago and before that several yrs. Tank looks nice outside, inside has a bad Kreem fix attempt. All in the bottom now. Carbs are stuck open, cable maybe. It does turn freely. 10873 miles.
So, Am I right in my thinking......
1) Pull and rebuild carbs.
2) Tank tank to rad. shop and have them strip and fix leaks in tank. (paint is no good anyway).
3) Go ahead and order Dyna electonic ignition , coils, wires and be done with that! If all else, I keep for another day.
4) Fire it up and then go to town with the tear down.
I have never had even a head off of a bike. I am sure I can, but have not as of today. Oh, wait, there was that DR650......LETS MOVE ON!
So, I would think with a bit of seafoam and new oil changes a few times in few hours of running would be ok for a 10k motor that has been ...kind of sealed up.
Fire away!
