Thanks Faux Diddy, I think the CT1 engine is OK, although I'll need to do a compression test but it moves freely when I kick it over and it sounds good. I want to say a lot of the parts may cross over between the CT1 and AT1 but again my familiarity with these bikes is comparable to my knowledge of the Kawasaki 2 smokers, hardly any. Although that's changing day to day.   :) Rick.

Nothing back from the guy about the engine. I'm going to sort through the stuff in boxes I received tonight and tomorrow. After that, I'll take a look at the H2 engine and pile all the pieces together to see what I have and better yet, what I'll need.  :)

That's odd, I emailed him about a couple parts and he replied promptly. Want me to ask him??

If its not too much trouble, that'd be awesome. My email may have gone into his spam bin too. I'm not yet a member on the kawi forums either, just lurking around like I did here before I actually started a thread. I appreciate it Stev-O. Rick.

I heard back from him, he said you can't afford the motor?  Did you send him a low ball offer, by chance?

No, never gave him an offer. Just asked if it was still available and if it was, what he was asking for it. He must have me confused for someone else.  :)

I didnt think you did something wrong, you seem like a stand up guy.

He just emailed me, says he now has a motor for sale for $1300.
He just bought five H2 motors!

Whaaat?? That's awesome! I for sure wouldn't have low balled him like that, I was thinking $1500 as an offer if he got back with me. I just hope he doesn't think it WAS me trying to beat him up on the engine price. I don't want him thinking the guys over here at SOHC4 are bums. LOL in any case, I think I'm going to give the rebuild a go. I've got most all of the bike here now but the engine will probably be what I get to first. Thanks again Stev-O!

Rebuilding what you have is prolly your best bet.  Highly recommend rebuilding your crank, the seals will leak if they have not been changed in 40 years.
It was $395 to have my H1 crank rebuilt, H2 should be the same.

The the crank is already accessible so I'll take your advise. I know they need to be rebuilt and the bike had 24k miles. Any sources for the service? Thinking of getting the rods shot peened as well.

There are two guys the the Triples forum recommends, Charlie is in MD [I used him] and Dave in CA.  Give Dave a shout and get an estimate, just get the basic unless you plan to race!
You may want to ask about cylinder boring too. He may not do it but I bet he knows someone. I paid $50/hole. You'll have to buy piston kits to give to the machinist to have it bored properly.
I had my machinist measure the cylinders to ensure I ordered the proper oversize pistons [about $300 for three Wiseco piston kits - piston, rings and wrist pins]
I'm about to rebuild my H2 motor as well, but my basket case came with a crank already rebuilt.
