350 four carb sync lock tabs?
« on: June 15, 2015, 03:25:33 AM »
Hi.
have a set of 350f carbs that Im rebuilding. noticed that the sync tabs ( i think thats what i might be able to call them ) are missing.
first of all would it still be possible to sync the carbs correctly without the tabs? and secondly , if not, is there anywhere I can source a couple of them.
has anyone got any idea of the size of the o-rings that are used on the connectors between the carbs?
thanks

These don't lock the sync or interfere with syncing. They eliminate the unlikely possibility of the lift arms coming off the main shaft ball ends.

They're pretty simple anyway - you could make them with a beer can, scissors, and a paper punch.

I made a set to replace both broken ones on my carbs.

The originals are a bit more substantial than what Bodi suggests.  I also made a replacement for one that had broken on a spare carb set, but I used some similar gauge of SS as the original that I happened to have around.  It was pretty simple to fabricate.  It seems to make the throttle openings more unified by keeping their linkage arms more in-line with each other.

Yes. I used some aluminum I had laying around and it's way overkill but it's what I had. I was able to find some of these from Holland I believe (via eBay) but the price was out of this world.
