Topic: Does carb cleaner go bad?

I was about to buy some carb cleaner and remembered that I might still have some from a project long time ago.  Lo and behold, there's a gallon can in the garage from about 15 years ago.  It doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would go bad, but just wanted to double check...

If it's real OLD stuff, it will have a layer of oil floating on top to help keep it from evaporating. It will also be very dangerous so handle with care, but it will clean up a carb better than anything sold today. Don't soak anything overnight, it won't be there in the morning.

That stuff will eat through the can. Be careful, my brother lost 5 gallons of it in his shop. It still stinks. I'd put that can in a bucket just in case.

If it's 15 years old it's probably not old enough to be the "old stuff" but I'd handle it with care anyhow.

I've still some of the old Yamaha cleaner left in a jar. It's best kept outside and if you work with it be very carefull and use it in the open only. Dangerous stuff.
