Cam studs, Help
« on: June 22, 2015, 07:25:04 AM »
The studs holding down the rocker assemblies I think are on the exhaust side of the head for a 77K. those threaded holes are drilled through to the spark plug opening cavities. Should they be sealed with something or lock tighted? It seems they would leak is not sealed.

They need to be sealed.  Locktite will not work.
I used ARP thread sealant (100-9904)

Have the studs ever been removed? If still a factory install, shouldn't be leaking, don't remove them to seal them and break the factory seal.

If you or somene else removed them, then yes they need to be sealed, when re-installed. Teflon based liquid/paste thread sealer available everywhere, on-line, auto parts, etc.
