Have you ever successfully repaired a busted cable?
« on: June 22, 2015, 09:10:35 AM »
I have a cable that broke at the ferrule. I can get some bulk wire and use the original housing, and possibly solder a new end on it. Has anyone done this successfully?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

I've heard of guys shortening them so I assume it can be done with some degree of success. If it's an older cable, consider the cost/hassle ratio. Depending on your budget it can tilt either way.
