Hey everybody, name's Matt.
I'm new to the forums, new to motorcycling, and new to mechanics and restoration in general, but shoot, late is better than never! I'm a software developer in Richmond, VA, just got my m2 licence through the Motorcycle Safety Center of VA this Spring, and got my first bike a month later: a '73 CB350F (or G, I guess?) in candy olive. She doesn't run and hasn't had a valid inspection since 2009, so she's probably sat for exactly that long, which is obviously bad. So now I've inherited a whole host of issues that I've been compiling based on things that I've been picking up from various sources (dansmc, motorcycle medic, this forum, my clymer's, the local bike resto shop) that I'm eager to cut my teeth on.
My goal is to learn how to do as much of the work myself as I can, hopefully with guidance from good people like yourselves, and then one day to pass down that knowledge in like fashion to some other bright-eyed individual just coming to discover the joys of wrenching bikes.
First pic below is the bike in all its dusty glory. Second is the fuel tank after I waxed it and emptied it of the old fuel, getting it ready for rust removal.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
