Looking for a project Bike in BC
« on: October 28, 2006, 04:00:07 PM »
Just a notice to BC members.
I'm on the hunt for a winter project bike. Keep your eyes peeled

350 twin...I have a lot of parts left over from last years build ;D   Even a wrecked one with a titled frame would be fine.

CB 750. Looking for an inexpensive starting point,  $1000.00 want to cut this one up quite a bit more than the last build.

I live on Gabriola, but will travel a bit to PU a good deal.  Winter is comming and I know I'm going to go mental without something in the shop to occupy my time :o

Hi Seaweb!
I know what you mean! Here's my "new" bike. It needs a little bit of attention and parts.
I'm seeing a fellow tomorrow that has a ton of 750 stuff that may part with some of it. If there's a bike to be had I'll let you know.
Cheers,
Cliff.

You're too quick! Joe. He's hard to track down. I met him at a Friday Night car gathering at a local coffee shop here. He liked my 750 so I may be able to talk/beg him out of something I need. I saw Fred earlier this year when he checked a couple of frames for - '69 bent, '71 straight.
Cheers,
Cliff.

Good guess hu?   I spoke with Joe earlier today. Toooooooo funny.  :D
He said there was a guy comming to see him tomorrow.... said you might have something for me;D

I might just ride over to the big Island....what time you planning on being there?
Fred said he may have something for me as well. As I recall, didn't I turn you on to Fred last year regarding your frame?

P.S. You got a motor for that frame?

Seaweb, no motor for the frame.  I have 2 but both are pretty much toast, one has the cases welded together. I have a line on one in Vancouver I have to call on  tomorrow. It's been in his basement for 25 years, if he still has it. I talked to him about 6 months ago and then lost track of him. There's one here for $500 but I'm not sure what year it is.
Maybe see you at noon at Joe's.
Cheers,
Cliff.

Yah, I'll probably see you there. I do know of an engine, but I need a frame?

Crap, started to rain tonight, and I had the wife conviced to ride her bike along with me. Could see you in the Big Red Truck instead.

Good seeing you today Cliff.

Wouldn't the boys and girls here be jealous if they could have seen and heard what we did today ;D
Man was that I nice shop. Run your bike with no battery using charging system from outboard engine parts. Hand made copper  gasgets, widgets, parts, super chargers, belt drives.......holly crap that was 750 Disney world!

Just a smidge beyond my scope at present, although you seemed to be keeping up/

We have found the God, and he is close ;D

Hope you found what you were looking for.  I went and saw Fred afterwards, no 350 frame for me so I will wait with bated breath on the 750 outcome. He does have a running engine for $750.00 if your other idea doesn't work out. I think it's a 72-73
