i found that dielectric grease (the readily available synthetic stuff) tended to sling off. And since I was running one of FBstuff's cool see-through points covers, it was obvious. One could imagine that having extra oil flying about where you want clean dry contacts (at all the wire/connector interfaces and of course on the points surfaces), wouldn't be optimal... The mallory stuff stays put, it's not expensive, and it can be used for other things, like for example, lubing a new shifter shaft seal.
