Front disk conversion cb750 k2

Hello, 
I am struggling with completing a front dual disk upgrade.
I was wondering if anyone here is able to help.
My dilemma: is it okay to have "that" gap between fork slider and calliper pivot.

I had to fill it in with 8 shims.
