Cb350four splitting crank case issue
« on: July 03, 2015, 11:28:52 PM »
Hi everyone, I am currently splitting my cb350f as it's time for a rebuild, Pistons and rings, but going in deeper as starter gear isn't engaging all the time ( have found the missing starter springs and pins in the sump! Anyhow have tried to split the motor but something up front won't let the top come off completely, looks to me to be the cam chain guide that goes under the crank!  Does this mean the bottom comes off with all the gears sitting in the top of the casing, or does the top come off as I would of thought and gears stay in the bottom, but it's stuck due to this guide I think.
Anyone pulled one of these crank cases apart and can help me would be great.   Thanks Mark

As far as I got was taking off the oil pan and I found my lost bits, so I didn't need to go any further.

Maybe post this at the bike section it will get more reads by people who have split them apart.

Yes you must turn motor upside down and remove lower casing first, all gears etc left in top case.

You might get a better response by posting tech questions in the Tech Section.
