Problem to connect new right handlebar switch
« on: July 01, 2015, 04:50:05 AM »
I just bought a new right handlebar switch with the ON-OFF headlight from vintage750 for my CB 750 K6. The problem is the original switch doesn't get the ON -OFF button. It used to get five wires and now on my new one i have 6 wires. After a few attempts, i'm able to have the starter button works properly and also the killswitch, but i lost the headlight. From the right switch i have a Brown/white wire and black/red but when i try to connect them to their matching wire connection, i still have no headlight. The problem seems come from to this two wires. May be i have to follow an other matching path but not with the same color. Could you please, help me, to show me where i'm suppose to connect this two wires ( Brown/white and black/red )? In advance, thank you.

On my 76 550K, the start button kills or disconnects the power to the head light when pushed. I would connect the Black/Red wire and the Black wire to the On/Off wires.  I used an On/Off switch on my bike as I was using an aftermarket product.  It maybe likely that the 750 would have a similar wiring design.
If not clear, ask and I or someone will offer suggestions.  I am fresh with mine as I just sorted it out yesterday.
