quick fix or more? Oil seal?
« on: June 29, 2015, 09:12:42 PM »
It's a pretty bad pic but I'm pretty sure my oil leak is coming from the hose that's connected furthest to the left and behind the other hose.

I'm guessing it's because the back sat on its kickstand for 10+ years and the seal dried out but I could be wrong. Can I just pick up an o-ring at the hardware store and be done with it or is it something more?

Vinton or buna-n from the auto parts store would work fine.
The specific size will be listed in the parts fiche.

First thing, try to tighten the bolts evenly. Do not over torque. If that fails to stop the leak then replace the o-ring. Have your Honda dealer order you two with their next order and pick them up next week. No shipping that way. Few bucks. 91304-028-000  15X2.5. Call them with your credit card info. Don't waste your gas and time driving around trying to locate something that isn't exactly right. Change both while you're at it since you'll have to take off the outer hose also. The fittings have a male fitting that slides inside the case so you'll have to wiggle/persuade it to come straight out.

Hope that's all there is to it unless it's from the clutch cover, etc.

That clutch cover screw looks virgin! Impressive. Should you need to remove any of those at a later date get yourself a cheap impact driver and learn how to use it. Life can be good and life can be easy.
