Delkevic exhaust
« on: June 30, 2015, 07:37:50 PM »
I'm considering one of these.  I should have the exhaust spigots and flanges figured out soon (someone had later style pipes on this bike).  I've read through a few threads but I don't recall seeing a few things I need to know:

1]  Is the oil filter accessible?
2]  Does the centerstand get to stay?
3]  What kind of sound are you getting.  I like quiet exhausts...

any input appreciated...

It doesn't seem like Chewy has his installed yet.  I sent them a message and here's what I got back:

Thank you for your interest in our products.  The oil can be changed without removing the pipes.  The center stand will still work, we have an additional bracket that can come with the system.  It would be a good idea to pop a note on the account you need the center stand bracket.  The megaphone muffler has a dual baffle system so you can leave them both in, remove on or both baffles to adjust the sound as you desire.

1]  Can the stock oil filter housing be removed with the exhaust on?
2]  Does the centerstand still fit?
3]  Do you have any idea how they compare to stock in regards to noise levels?

I wasn't convinced about the oil filter part so I called them.  She said nobody had asked that question about the filter housing yet and asked me to hold.  She came back a minute or two later and said, "He thinks you can get that off with the pipes on."  I'm waiting on some exhaust hardware so I hope I can figure out a definitive yes or no on it.  Chewy thinks a spin on would work ok but I wonder about stock...
