Tool Kit
« on: June 30, 2015, 09:19:41 PM »
I didn't see anything while searching. I'd like to know what tools some of you carry? There isn't much room in that tray under the seat of my 550. I've been thinking about getting a Wolfman tool roll and coming up with a way to attach it to the bike.

- phillips head screwdriver
- flat head screwdriver
- adjustable wrench
- 8mm box wrench
- 10mm box wrench
- 12mm box wrench
- a couple spare fuses
- tire pressure gauge
- a couple zip tires
- feeler gauge

all in an old Kobalt wrench tool roll tucked in the tool tray.

If you search on eBay CB550, you'll see what was in an original kit. First to note is that a roll is inefficient. The cloth takes up too much room.

OEM was a bag which you can buy new for $9. Then fill it with your own tools, same as but better quality than OEM. This will fit in the tray as intended. Supplement with zip ties, some duct tape wrapped around a screwdriver handle, a small multi tool etc.

Why not a new Honda kit?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-550-New-Tool-Kit-1977-CB550F-1977-1978-CB550K-89010-404-670/321233110759?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D31729%26meid%3D58ad2c0657b0489c86dc3c126b30a123%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D321248663202

I gave my CB750 a new OEM kit since the original kit was lost. The Honda spark plug tool is really good when its slim and will reach plug 2 and 3 very well. I have added allen head tools of size 4,5,6 mm when I have Allen heads all over the bike, mostly engine covers.
